    vaccinations & muzzles

My bulldog had a bad experience at the vets a few years ago. Since then, he dislikes going to any vet. Hes so scared that he gets aggressive. They do muzzle him w a regular dog muzzle and that alone is anxiety provoking for me. Naturally, it goes on when the vet gets ready to inject but the whole experience is horrible for both of us. He cant breath and hes in distress. At the same time, im distressed because i know what hes going through. There was an instance where one time, even after i took the muzzle off, he couldnt breath and his tongue was turning blue. It was horrible. I literally had to wet him down. Having said all that, hes older now (8 yrs old) and i dont want to continue to do that to him, but he needs his shots. Is it possible that I could learn to inject him myself??? Or does anyone know of a muzzle made specifically for bulldogs?? Any and all feedback is much appreciated! Betsy
