    Rizzo needs surgery!

    Hello all.

This is my first post and I am hoping that someone can offer some much needed advise. Rizzo is 2 years old, about 1 week ago he started his day with a slight limp. He was crated for about 4 hours while I was out and when I returned home his limp had progressed to not hardly being able to put his foot down. We immediately went to the emergency vet who said that he may have tweeked it, he may have torn his ACL and put him on limited activity and carprofin. We went to his vet 2 days later. Our vet said his ACL felt strong and said to give it a week. He began limping worse, he was seen this a.m. and Xrayed. He has a torn ACL, they are recommending surgery. I would have to take him to Medvet as my vet does not do this surgery. Has anyone been thru this, can you make any recommendations or offer any advice. I am in Dayton, Ohio.
