    Lover of Bulldogs

Hi, my name is Carolyn and my husband, Tom, and I have been avid bulldog lovers for years.....our youngest baby, Jesse, (a girl), is going to be 7 on May 31st....and believe you me, she is a HANDFUL!! LOL!! She's allowed to sleep at the foot of our bed, so come 11:00 p.m. at night, when SHE decides it's time to go to sleep, she'll sit in front of us, whining, not barking, just complaining, and she won't stop until she has rounded us up and off to sleep we go....we have come to decide that Bulldogs are very smart. We've had 3 others over the course of 12 years, our first, Jake, (a brindle), died at the age of 3 due to a aneurysm in 2005, he was so gentle that my husband would take him to his favorite bar and Jake would have a beer with him...he was loved...our Zoe (fawn) died of old age in March 2011, she was almost 12 and our Maddie (white), who was given up by a family at 2 years old because they decided they had no time for her, died in November 2011 of old age. She was 11..... As for the future, I see many other Bulldogs coming into our lives. When friends ask me if they should get a Bulldog, I don't lie and I tell them that, yes, some come with much baggage (allergies, attitudes, etc.) so be very careful in your choice. We knew what we were getting when we took on our Bulldogs.....but we would have it no other way.

Hi Carolyn! I love how Jesse has you on a schedule! That is just too adorable. Our bulldog cuddles up on the couch with us at around 8pm until we're ready for bed and no matter how hard we try to keep her at the FOOT of the bed, she always manages to squeeze up between us right in the middle of the bed, sideways.. We should probably have her sleep in a crate but I feel so bad kicking her off. They sure know how to work your heart strings!

I definitely won't be able to get another breed of dog after owning a bulldog. They may be stubborn and a bit of a mess when it comes to health stuff but their personalities are just so unbeatable.
